So why do I find him so inspiring? Well...Banksy never shy's away from making a mark on society to get his political views across. He's travelled the world to paint sharp critiques of social injustice in places where they will be noticed. In my eyes his work isn't just graffiti its art. Within his imagery he creates an emotional connection with the viewer in a clever and unique manner. This is something I want to create within my work, something that incaptures the mind and grabs their attention instantly.
Banksy demonstrates what art is truly meant to do, make a statement. By keeping his identity unknown his stencilled pieces do the talking for him. Banksy inspires me to delve into creating illustrations which mean something to me. He's un afraid to depict capitalism, hypocrisy and greed to portray the jaded society we live in.He is also well known for his installation work, such as his most recent Dismaland, which is seen to be Banksy's version of Disneyland. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to visit!
