November Favourites

Hiya everyone! Im sorry for the late blog post Ive been extremely busy with university work and not had the time to write up any new segments. Im starting back with a whole new segment where I'm going to write up a post every month for which discusses the artists/designers who are inspiring me for that particular month. So lets get started with my November favorites!

1. Banksy

Banksy has taken the graffiti world by storm, by creating illustrations which portray a political message in such a beautiful way. He has always inspired me to created pieces of work which start discussions and really captures someones mind. Banky's use of bold striking black lines, mixed with intricate details really help's to make the piece stand out on any brick wall. His use of colour within his illustrations are always striking, for example the use of the blue within the image above sets the artwork on fire. But for me the reason why I love his work so much is the sense of imagination and really well thought out marks which make up his images, and take it from being a piece of graffiti to a piece of art.

2. Celine

Just WOW. Celine took the fashion stakes by storm when they brought out this collection is S/S 2014. The pieces have a sense of passion and excitement, which is extended through the use of daring brush marks and use of an optimal colour way. The sheer mass of the marks make the garment's stand out with the crisp white next to the charcoal black, and the addition of small accents of colour really make the collection perfect. The minimal accessories of black leather and fine metal jewellery combine well as they don't attract from the main design.

3. Pablo Picasso

Picasso's work has inspired many artists his use of cubism and dynamic colour schemes, create illustrations full of passion and emotion. The crying woman (see above) is one of his most popular pieces of work due to the sheer strength of emotion within the piece, the use of sharp lines and colour creates a focal viewing point of the woman's mouth which is mainly black and white, which helps to signify the woman's feelings in a much deeper way. The main reason I personally love Picasso's work his use of colour and shading to make the piece come alive, which is something I am currently developing within my own work.

Id love to here who is inspiring you at the moment! don't be afraid to comment!

None of these images are my own.
